About Me.

Welcome to ClayZ Creations—a whimsical world of hand-sculpted characters, imagined and brought to life by artist Beth Saunders.

Each piece in this collection is individually designed and created in my studio, and the site evolves as new work comes to life—so there is always something new waiting to be discovered.

My sculptures range in size, with some reaching up to approximately 20 inches tall. Each one is solid, tactile, and made to be held, viewed, and experienced—not just observed from a distance.

I primarily work with polymer clay and epoxy resin, often built over foundations of ceramic, metal, or wood. Occasionally, I incorporate natural elements as part of the storytelling within a piece. While many works are bold and playful, I also explore more delicate, detailed sculptures depending on the character and concept.

At the heart of my work is a love for personality, humor, and imagination. Each sculpture is a one-of-a-kind creation, never replicated, and never mass-produced.

My inspiration often comes from everyday life seen through a more playful lens—heavily influenced by the humor and observational style of Gary Larson and The Far Side. I tend to see life as a cartoon unfolding in real time, and my work reflects that sense of curiosity and lighthearted storytelling.

I never fully know how a piece will turn out when I begin. That unpredictability is one of my favorite parts of the process—each sculpture evolves organically, guided by intuition, texture, and character as it develops.

These pieces are created to be enjoyed as collectible art. While they may feel playful or whimsical, they are intended as art objects, not toys, and are best appreciated as unique sculptural works.
